Ruby Blue Textmate Theme

Posted by John on March 11th, 2006

When did the initial design for the Ruby-Lang Web site a year ago I created a Vim theme that mirrored the colors used in the little code window of the design. Times have changed and I am now an avid Mac user. With the change in operating system I’ve also picked up another text editor called Textmate. Today I decided to spend a little time on a theme for Textmate that mirrored the Ruby Lang design in the same way that my Vim theme did.

To install:

  1. Download the Ruby Blue theme file
  2. Copy it into:
    /Applications/TextMate.app/Contents/SharedSupport/Themes/

Enjoy!

Update! Someone asked for the Vim theme so I uploaded that this evening.

I just grabbed this theme off the micromates site this morning and have been using it all day. I love it!

    Thanks for creating it.

    Beautiful site btw.

Ahh. Thanks for making this. Saved me the trouble ;)

I’ve been wanting to have this, but never got around to actually slapping it together.

Nice work John! :) I love this background color.

I’ve created Notepad++ port of theme (its a free source editor under Windows).

    Port url: http://3276.hu/project/port_of_ruby_blue.html

    enjoy

‘Tis better to put your theme in ~/Library/Application Suport/TextMate/Themes/ so when TextMate gets updated, your theme doesn’t get destroyed. If this path doesn’t exist, create the necessary folders.
